Want More True Crime Content?

If you want more after reading (or listening) to I’ll Be Gone in the Dark and Chase Darkness with Me, I highly recommend you check out the HBO docuseries “I’ll Be Gone in the Dark” and the podcast, “The Murder Squad”.

“I’ll Be Gone in the Dark” is available on HBO Max and focuses on the life of writer Michelle McNamara and her journey into the dark world of The Golden State Killer. It’s a documentary with six, one-hour long episodes and you’ll be hooked. If this is any testament, I signed up for HBO Max so I could watch this. If you liked the book and want more, I recommend you check it out. It’s filmed beautifully and they interview people close to her and this case. You can watch the teaser trailer here.

If you enjoyed Bill Jensen’s book, Chase Darkness with Me, you’ll also like “The Murder Squad.” It’s a weekly podcast he does with Paul Holes, a former cold-case investigator for the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s office. They discuss cold cases, unidentified remains, and missing persons cases. They also provide any updates that they receive to these cold cases (as they stay in touch with the local authorities in charge of these cases).
